For us, successful sessions mean operating on their terms and in their style. Attention spans are shorter, vocab is more limited. But insights are often profound.
Stimulus (and lots of it) is vital to engage and elicit response. We encourage children to express themselves in a variety of ways; they can jump it, they can draw it, they can catch it.
Mums and dads get involved too – sometimes alongside their kids, sometimes in their own sessions. Comparing parent/child testimonies is is useful in terms of revealing any connections and, importantly, chasms.
Positive reinforcement defines our style.
